Where Art & Fashion Collide

In every six degrees of separation we have a fashionista. In between, they are all 'Andrea's' of the world. If you are reading this blog you should know where that reference came from, or shame on you!
People have a lot of assumptions about individuals that cater to the fashion-related industry & assume it is made up with a materialistic bunch, especially when you hear things like what Stanley Tucci's character in The Devil Wears Prada said, "You're in desperate need of Chanel."

However, he also said (of designers), "What they created was greater than art because you live your life in it."

Right as he is, fashion designers are more than just creators of what one wears..

I thought this post should be dedicated to Stanleys most quotable quotes with beautiful sketches of historys most fashionable woman, Mademoiselle Gabrielle Coco Chanel done by none other than Karl Lagerfeld.

A few strokes of genius!

A friend, B, came across the sketch above and sent it to me. He, in my opinion, is probably the most knowledgeable person in terms of fashion and anything that even reeks of style.

After sending me this, he said, "I am always amazed how someone can leave maybe 90% of the detail out and yet you know exactly what it is a picture of!!"

I stumbled across more sketches..

Infamous for these hats, which Lagerfeld captured in this piece of art.

Coco's impeccable style showed even in sketches.

Of course, other people wont understand. Loving the person inside is as important as the person outside. Your first impression shows grooming first, as your soul isnt screaming out to the world, 'HEY, IVE GOT STYLE.'
Again, like Stanley said, and this is for all the fashion illiterates, Yes, because that's really what this whole multibillion-dollar industry is all about, isn't it? Inner beauty.

Have a great week fashionista's!
